The Morris + King Company, one of New York's top public relations firms, has an immediate opening for a Junior Account Executive in the consumer/lifestyle sector. Candidate must be a creative and highly organized multi-tasker with interest in public relations, event management, social media and out-of-the-box thinking.
The right candidate should demonstrate the ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast paced environment with a dynamic and positive attitude. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, energetic, and proactive to join our collaborative (and fun!) team. The right fit will possess a Bachelor's degree, excellent writing skills, and a thorough understanding of the consumer lifestyle/entertainment media space. Prior public relations (internship) experience preferred.
Responsibilities include:
· Media monitoring for client news and/or industry trends
· Drafting call agendas and recaps
· Creating and maintaining media lists using Vocus
· Identifying appropriate targets (outlets and reporters) through daily scanning of top tier media
· Writing pitches and press releases
· Assisting with the creation of press materials--including bios, company boilerplates, etc.
· Assisting senior staff in strategic planning and brainstorming
· Preparing and overseeing press/blogger mailings
· Cultivating relationships with reporters, editors and bloggers
· Assisting in the planning and on-site coordination of events
· Pitching to print, online and broadcast media outlets
· Maintaining client reports/pitching update grids
· Posting across social media channels including Twitter and Facebook
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
