Well-funded digital incubator needs a digital marketing whiz in a contractor/consulting role to move the ball further on two of the ideas under development. Both involve marketing products and services to individual consumers. The first project is an identified affinity market- but no one thinks of it as such- that already makes purchases in the areas that we have in mind, but it has not been marketed to the way we'd like to see it done online. The second project is more product-driven endeavor: while it does target "younger" consumers, it is an attempt to revolutionize a very, very stale service category that is not often delivered online. The projects might go somewhere or might not or might evolve drastically: we are very rational. Two other ideas are in the works so this may end up being an on-going relationship.
Desired experience:
- Marketing experience in a digital ad agency, traditional consumer products or in a B2B environment
- Very solid, hands-on understanding of social media (this might include setting up and running FB/Twitter/YouTube channels, brand blogs, etc.)
- Overall creative development (this might include copy, UX/UI design, interface with niche experts)
- Good understanding of product design and flow from a project management perspective
Desired traits:
- Energetic doer: no emails/theorizing, must be output-focused
- Ability to handle shifting priorities: the discussions from yesterday might no longer be valid
- Takes ownership of projects
- Generates and contributes great ideas from Day 1
- Excellent phone research skills: you will in all likelihood have to identify and call people in industry associations and ask probing questions
- Good-to-excellent copywriting
