Hutch is seeking a bubbly, fun, eager, detail-oriented fashion intern!!
Hutch is a contemporary fashion label that's fresh, feminine, flirty and always fun! We launched in 2010, are already carried in 60 stores nationwide (those southern girls love us!) and will be featured on the cover of People Stylewatch next month! We are looking for interns to assist with all aspects of the business - from design & production, to sales & marketing and whatever else happens to pop up. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fashion label growing from the ground up -- so, we are seeking very enthusiastic, fun, polite, detail-oriented self-starters. This is a great work environment located in Brooklyn with an easy-going, relaxed, friendly designer and two really cute long-haired dachshunds.
Daily responsibilities can include:
- conducting sales calls in preparation for market
- developing flats and creating line sheets
- liaising with sample and production factories
- assisting with market and photoshoots
- assisting with showroom setup and prepping
- drafting emails and snail-mail correspondence
- sourcing trims and fabrics from local vendors and mills
- communicating with current accounts
- following up with press samples out
- preparing and facilitating shipping on orders
Key qualifications are as follows:
- 3rd to 4th year college students or recent graduates
- one or more years of prior internships working knowledge of patternmaking, draping and construction
- background in dresses and/or sportswear
- proficient in Excel and Word
- Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- lover of and master of all things social media related
- capable of working independently and thinking critically
* Semester commitment is ideal
* Days and hours are a bit flexible but minimum 20 hour commitment required
* Self starters with the ability to prioritize and multitask are a plus
